The 2002 and 2006 Football World Cups both had Germany as a strong player, but preferred star Brazil has taken over in 2002. This strangely didn't happen in 2006, when Brazil unexpectedly dropped-out due to a powerful France.

Organizing Costs¹ = estimated numbers calculated by primarily taking account of the investments in infrastructure, sports facilities (such as the stadiums/venues), less about media and indirect costs

The costs of organizing this event in South Africa are lower than in the other 3 countries which have previously hosted the World Cup. Though, it is speculated that it will be harder for South Africa to recover the costs invested into building new stadiums and improving infrastructure.

But if the incomes will be higher than the investments, then the contribution to the South African economy will be tremendous.

The number of stadiums is in decrease, as we observe... fro

m 20 in Korea and Japan (each had 10 of their own) it went down to 12 in Germany and now only 10 in South Africa.

You decide which mascot is more sympathic!
